Departure Day!

KIM: It's finally here - Departure Day! We have been planning this trip for over three months and dreaming about it for much longer than that. Now we're on our way. We're all packed and leave for the airport in less than an hour. In case you couldn't tell, I'm enjoying the anticipation of the trip as much as I think I'll enjoy the actual journey! Thank you Jody, Ed, Dad and Joyce for all of the help making this trip happen. Thanks also to the many friends who send encouragement and good wishes. One friend, John, even found a music video that evokes his sense of our adventure. Check out the YouTube link below.

Here are a few of the many messages I received this week:

Hi Kim, I wish you great success on your journey and Godspeed. It is wonderful how you are reaching out beyond your borders to connect with others. I can't imagine anything more noble and worthy. Our thoughts go with you and Anastasia across the sea and we hope to see you soon after you return--you are both ambassadors, in the truest sense of the office. You represent not the concerns and positions of a government but the desire and goodwill of your heart to connect with others. Bravo! I've inserted a link of a music video of the Dave Matthews Band. Maybe you've seen it, but it's a great video and I think it represents your trip very well. Bon Voyage. John http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aMBgSfQI49E

I wish you the best of luck and loads of fun on your trip. Safe travels Kim! -Brian
How very exciting! I hope you have a wonderful trip. As you know, foreign travel is a challenge. My grandfather came from Slovenia and I wish he would have taught me the language. Bon voyage, Marilyn
