Goin' to the Doctor

Just a fun aside....
Some of you may have known that I have been traveling with some broken eyeglass frames. I have had them glued together with aquarium sealer (because Crazy Glue didn't cut it), and used some wire to keep them steady. Anyway, we were walking by an optical shop and we thought we would stop in to look at the price of frames. Next thing you know, I am getting an eye exam from a cute Croatian eye doctor! When we told him we were from America, he said, "Oh,George Bush Land!" This has been the only comment about our politics so far. I apologized to him, why I don't know. I just wanted him to know that I didn't vote for him. Besides, I was putting my sight in his care and I didn't want him to hurt me. The next day, I picked up my brand new glasses, and I couldn't be happier. (I am holding onto my slapped together glasses, just in case, because you never know.)

Hello from George Bush Land! Ha Ha - pretty funny. Still, I'm betting no eye doctor in Seattle would even know who the "leader" of Croatia was! (Who is it?) This is great traveling along with you. How exciting to be exploring your roots! And Shelley's art is wonderful as always. Amazing. Nasty, rainy Sunday here on Whidbey. Keep on keepin' on!

Anastasia,
Just returned to the US and remembered that you have left on your amazing journey. It is great hearing of your adventures and I'll email your Brencick cousins to remind them to check in. I am anxious to hear about your meeting with our Brencick relatives which should be very soon. The Brencicks will start arriving in St. Louis for the reunion during this coming weekend and will be heading the the Lake of the Ozarks for 3 or 4 days. They'll be returning to St. Louis on Friday, June 1 and we'll all be getting together at John Brencick's house in Kirkwood that evening. People will start returning home on Saturday, June 2. It will be great seeing everyone again. The last time we were all together was for my Uncle Vince's and then my Dad's funerals, so it will be good seeing everyone under happy circumstances. Sorry you won't be able to make this one, but you are welcome here anytime. Will take pictures to send your way.
Enjoy!

Considering I'm the one who broke your glasses, I think I should be given some credit for this fun experience!
Shelly's artwork looks inspired. Yet as I am jealous of your adventure, I am so enjoying being home - holding place for you here.
